A Niger Delta Based group, Eager Network for Development of Warri, ENDOW has given plaudits to the member representing Warri Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju and the leadership of Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC led by former Warri South West local government chairman, Hon. David Tonwe for ensuring that 500 amnesty slots were allotted to Itsekiri nation.
The coalition described the dialogue and consultation strategy adopted by Hon. Daniel Reyenieju and the leadership of INYC in the struggle towards making the presidential amnesty office give Itsekiri youths who laid down arms during the disarmament programme some slots after being left out in the initial phases of the exercise, as a worthy example of the right approach to deepen the nation’s democracy, particularly as 2015 draws nearer.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Mr. Ernest Ebisanine, Secretary, Comrade Julius Benefowei, Public Relations Officer, Mr. Edafe Edjuyovwi and Women Leader, Mrs. Eunice Ugochukwu, the coalition enjoined Hon. Daniel Reyenieju to heed to its clarion call and re-contest the Warri Federal Constituency seat in 2015.
The statement adds that Hon. Reyenieju’s experience, pan Nigerian posture as well as his qualitative input on the floor of the House on National issues “is worthy criteria needed for effective representation of Warri Federal Constituency, especially from 2015 and not a period for political neophytes.”
