Power Lee Blasts: I’m disappointed in Delta State Government
Power Lee De Great, showcasing his Pro Africa Wrestling Championship Belt

The Pro Wrestling Africa Heavy Weight Champion, Mr. Peace popularly known as “Power Lee De Great” says he is highly disappointed with the Delta State Government over their inability to support him at Asaba, Delta State during his defense of the Heavy Weight title he won in Cameron September 2015.

Power Lee expressed his displeasure Sunday May 1 shortly after he successfully defended his Heavy Weight Pro Africa Wrestling Belt at the Indoor Sports Hall of Asaba Township Stadium.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the Isoko born wrestler defeated his Angolan challenger, Marvelous Buffalo in a difficult and entertaining bout.

The Pro Africa Wrestling Heavy Weight Champion described the action of the Delta State Government as shameful, just as he revealed that the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa earlier directed Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Ovie Agas, Commissioner for Sports, Chief Anthony Okowa and the Director General, Delta State Sports Commission to make sure the event get the full support of the government, only for the State Government to decline financial as well as moral support at the final preparation despite the presence of International wrestlers from other African countries.

According to him, the State Commissioner for Sports, Chief Anthony Okowa only sent SMS few days to the event, that there was no fund, directing them to look elsewhere for sponsorship.

The President-General of Isoko Development Union, UDU, High Chief Iduh Amadhe during his address after a victory party held in honour of Power Lee by IDU, disclosed that Isoko people through the Isoko Merit Award will confer an award on Power Lee De Great, based on his achievement and for making Delta State as well as Nigeria proud.

He further said that the event which held at the Asaba was disappointing because of the absence and support of the State Government and declared that subsequent championship wrestling will be held in Oleh Township Stadium, Isoko South Local Government Area in order to ensure that Power Lee get maximum support.

Chief Amadhe also decried the lack of support and presence of Isoko politicians in both the Delta State House of Assembly and at the Federal level during the wrestling bout.
