As part of preparation to pave the way for the hugely anticipated coronation of the new Monarch, activities marking the obsequies of the late Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, CON has been schedule to commence from November 19 through December 3, 2015, starting with a Commendation Service at the Olu’s Palace in Ajamimogha, Warri and thereafter other events will take place at Ode-Itsekiri, otherwise known as Big Warri.

Authoritative sources told Our Correspondent that all necessary arrangements, including transportation, feeding and security have been put in place to ensure a smooth burial and coronation ceremonies.

Though the programme of events have not been officially released, Ode-Itsekiri and parts of Warri Urban are now wearing a new look, with business activities heightening up in both places.

Our Correspondent reports that at Ode-Itsekiri (Big-Warri), new and modern buildings have sprung up at all the nooks and crannies of the ancient town, even as a new amphi-theatre under construction is nearing completion and heavy duty swamp buggies were seen clearing the creeks as well as bringing down mangrove trees, creating a massive and lovely environment to behold.
