Six unidentified armed robbers at about 3:00am today, Friday July 3 killed a man, Paul Dennis of Calabar origin who was a bread cutter during a raid on a bakery (name withheld) along Okubor Street in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State and shot another male worker in the bakery, leaving him seriously wounded, Fresh Angle International can exclusively report.
Our Correspondent gathered from an eyewitness who equally works in the bakery that the staff of the bakery,13 in number, were carrying out their normal production when the gunmen suddenly stormed the bakery.
The armed robbers reportedly demanded for money from the bakery manager, which he obliged without any resistance, but one of the armed robbers allegedly shouted at the bakery boss, “bring the money or I go shoot”.
According to the eyewitness, while the armed robbers were shouting at the bakery manager, the bakery bread cutter, Paul Dennis ran outside the bakery as a result of fear with a red torch light on his hand and that infuriated one of the robbers who laid siege close to the bakery door. The member of the gang apparently unsure of the bakery worker’s intention shot and killed him immediately.
Another eyewitness (name withheld) who also works at the bakery disclosed that the second victim simply identified as John was shot at his back head and leg, but a third eyewitness claimed that the said John was shot at his stomach as well as intestine. He was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital for urgent medical attention and as at the time of this report it could not be ascertained if the needed medical attention had been given to him, even as the corpse of Paul Dennis was still lying on the spot where he was killed.
Fresh Angle International also gathered that the armed robbers successfully made away with undisclosed sum of money from the bakery and went ahead to rob some other residents in the area of money as well as other valuables.
