Uduaghan, Ochei face fresh petition over multi billion power project

Strong indications have emerged that a group of Deltans under the auspices of Concerned Deltans are in the process of putting together a petition on the alleged Financial recklessness of the Uduaghan 's administration with a view to presenting same to Interpol after claiming the EFCC has been compromised on the multi billion naira Independent Power Project, IPP at Oghara in Ethiope West Local Government Area in Delta State.

Fresh Angle International scooped from the petitioners (who prefer anonymity for now) weekend that the IPP which was contracted in 2009 has recorded no meaningful development, yet ''approximately N21 billion paid to various contractors and ''a further N2.3billion was recently allegedly released to the main contractor, Victor Ochei, through a firm, Davnotch, purportedly owned by the former Delta State House of Assembly Speaker.

The latest release of 2.3 billion naira to Davnotch, Fresh Angle International gathered is on the request of the project Consultant, A&A Global Engineering Limited against the '' better judgment of the Project Director, Minister of Energy, EPS Director, Engr. Abojie F., who estimated work done by the contractor to be 12 billion naira instead of the 19 billion naira already paid.

The petitioners while alleging that the EIA, CAC company registration and land acquisition were purportedly paid for by previous government, the out-going administration did same.

They are also accusing Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of laundering 5billion dollars through ''a sham solar project'' adding that if investigated, ‘the money trail would lead back to the governor and not the developer as being portrayed by the investors''.

It was also gathered that the incoming Governor of the State, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has allegedly declared that he would not condone the rising debt profile of Delta State believed to be kept in secrecy in connivance with a top Nigerian commercial bank.

Dr. Okowa was also quoted to have said during a thanks giving service that he would step on toes in his quest at providing good governance to Deltans.
