A gallant Police Sergeant attached to the Agbor Division of the Nigerian Police has gunned down an armed robbery suspect, a police statement has revealed.
The Police Officer, whose name was not disclosed, was reported to be returning from night duty when he ran into a gang of armed robbers, operating with a Lifan Motorcycle along Old Lagos/Asaba Road, Agbor in Delta State.
The robbers allegedly shot sporadically to scare people away while robbing their victims, but luck ran against them when the courageous Sergeant confronted them and allegedly gunned down one of the hoodlums, even as the others (number unknown) escaped.
According to the statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Delta State Command, DSP Celestina Kalu, items recovered from the deceased criminal include one cut to size double barrel gun and three live cartridges.
