Why Uduaghan may not be happy with Jonathan-Investigation
Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan

The uneasy political romance between out-going Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan may not have been brought to National fore particularly in the build-up to the March 28, 2015 Presidential and National Assembly elections, but checks by Fresh Angle International reveal that there are several reasons why Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan may be nursing personal frustration against the out-going President Goodluck Jonathan.

Prominent among several reasons why Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan would not be happy with Dr. Goodluck Jonathan is the incarceration of Chief James Ibori and key members of his family in U.K prison on accounts of money laundering and corruption, as a result of the hunt by Nigeria Police on the orders of President Goodluck Jonathan, no thanks to Chief Ibori allegedly masterminding the overnight airlift of ailing late former President Musa Yar’Adua to Nigeria.

Apart from being close cousin to Chief James Ibori, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s rise to political fame and relevance of some sort is solely based on the instrumentality and connection of Chief James Ibori.

The alleged Presidential order on Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to step down for James Manager 48 hours to the last Senatorial PDP primaries on sentimental but unspoken reason against the power rotational agreement in Delta South between Ijaw, Itsekiri and Isoko is perhaps one pill too bitter to swallow by the former Secretary to Delta State Government and it looks like a seeming end to his dream political ascendency.

Governor Uduaghan’s grip on the security Situation in Delta State was brought to the cleaners when he publicly told the world that nobody can stop President Goodluck Jonathan a second time from coming to perform the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Ogidigben EPZ cum Delta Gas Industrial City. But that was not to be as President Goodluck Jonathan appeared to ignore Governor Uduaghan’s security report and heeded to Government Ekpemupolo A.K.A. Tompolo’s threat of possible war if the ceremony was performed. No doubt, that episode bruised the Governor’s ego despite his mature handling of the situation.

The manner which Tompolo in connivance with his Itsekiri allies frustrated the House of Representatives ambition of Governor Uduaghan’s relation Barr. Ada Val Arenyeka in favour of the incumbent, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju and the political intrigues in Delta State PDP gubernatorial primaries which saw the last minute withdrawal of Governor Uduaghan’s preferred Sir Tony Obuh and later David Edevbie, who lost to Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as a result of the alleged financial muscle of Tompolo, may be another sore taste in the out-going Delta State Governor’s political career, which he may be tempted to link to Tompolo’s Presidential backing amid his loyalty to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

Another political intrigue which Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan may not forget easily was the embarrassment of being cajoled by Tompolo, acting on his Presidential connection to dump Hon. Weyinmi Omadeli, the PDP Chairmanship candidate for Warri South-West Local Government Area in the last Delta State Local Government Poll for Tompolo’s sibling, Hon. George Ekpemupolo only 48 hours to the election. That singular action left Uduaghan’s trusted faithful, Chief Ayirimi Emami very livid.

Indications are that as soon as President Jonathan hands over to the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd.) in May 29, many outburst and political re-alignment will change the face of Delta State politics, especially once Chief James Ibori returns from London prison.
