One time Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and frontline grassroots politician, Rt. Hon. J.F.K. Omatsone says he is the most qualified candidate to represent the people of Delta South Senatorial district at the National Assembly in the next legislature.
Hon. Omatsone who is gunning for the Delta South Senatorial seat on the platform of Social Democratic party, SDP in the hugely anticipated March 28 polls, made the declaration yesterday when he led his supporters to the Olu of Warri Palace in Warri to solicit the Monarch’s royal blessing.

The former lawmaker while noting that as Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly he facilitated the employment of several Itsekiri sons and daughters into the State Civil Service, provided scholarships as well as attracted development projects to Warri Kingdom, stated that the next political dispensation may not favour Itsekiri Nation if experienced politicians like him do not get elected into legislative positions.
He averred that it is the turn of Itsekiri Nation to produce the next Senator to represent Delta South based on the rotational agreement, adding that even the Ijaws and Isokos of the district “are not happy” with the incumbent Senator representing Delta South at the National Assembly, Senator James Manager.
Our Senior Correspondent reports that Hon. Omatsone received the Royal blessing of the Olu of Warri in the presence of prominent Chiefs in Warri Kingdom such as Chief C.D. Ikomi, Chief Patrick Yalaju, Chief Francis Omatseye, Chief Rowland Omagbemi, Chief Emma Jones, and Chief Eni Olley.
