Muturu wins Bomadi community chairmanship election

The people of Bomadi Community, headquarters of Bomadi Local Government Area in Delta State have elected Stephen Muturu to pilot the affairs of the community for the next two years, Our Bomadi Correspondent reports.

Bomadi community witnessed a wild jubilation after Muturu, former Chairman of the Community was re-elected and declared winner.

In an election that was conducted amid a peaceful atmosphere, Muturu was declared winner by the electoral committee after polling 67 votes out of the 74 delegates to clinch a landslide victory.

The electoral body adopted option A-4, which started immediately after the accreditation by10: am at Olou Primary School, venue of the election.

Other contestants, including Akiefa Ayakpo who had 3 votes to come a distance 2nd, Joseph Bekesuoyeibo and the immediate past Community Chairman, Clement Tikpa, got 2 votes respectively.

In a statement after declaring Muturu winner of the election, the electoral committee led by Patrick Etolor, expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct, stating that the process was credible, free and fair.

While stating that there can be only one winner at a time, Etolor advised the contestants that lost to collectively join hands with the winner to move the community forward.

Speaking to Journalists shortly after being declared winner, the Chairman-elect offered olive branch to his co-contestants, asking them to join his team in their quest to move Bomadi forward.

Muturu promised to prioritize the welfare of the people in their agenda and pledged to harmonize all stakeholders in the area to usher in a peaceful environment for socio-economic activities to thrive.
