Warri Community gets new exco

Ogunu, one of the former host communities to Oil major, Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, Warri, now has a new executive chaired by Sir Newton Ayiwe, Fresh Angle International  can authoritatively report.

The swearing-in of the new executive which has a two-year mandate is sequel to an election held same day that was conducted by an electoral committee headed by a Human Rights Activist, Mr. Amaechi Ogbonna.

Speaking at the occasion, the immediate past chairman of Ogunu community, Mr. Ejiro Ofuya thanked people of the community for the opportunity given him to serve, saying that his tenure was occasioned by twists and turns. He added that he was able to tackle lack of job opportunities and insufficient infrastructural development despite obvious challenges.

Responding on behalf of other members of the new executive, the newly sworn-in chairman, Sir Newton Ayiwe amid cheers noted that it will be a challenge to bring joy to the common man and the Ogunu people, but quipped that it was a great task that him and members of his executive are willing to tackle.
