Ijaw Leaders to Arenyeka: We’II give you our support-Oromoni
Barr. Ada Val Arenyeka

Renowned Ijaw Leader in Gbaramatu, Warri South-West Local Government Area and Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Couple Oromoni has promised to strongly support the House of Representatives aspiration of former NDDC Commissioner, Bar. Ada Val Arenyeka, even as he vowed that he will not receive another aspirant in the running to 2015 Warri Federal Constituency Seat.

Chief Oromoni made the declaration Thursday September 4 in Warri when he received hopeful to Warri Federal Constituency Seat in the 2015 polls, Barr. Ada Val Arenyeka and his entourage.

While noting his frustration on the attitude of some politicians he had previously supported in the past elections, Chief Oromoni commended Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s performance in education as well as health sectors and appealed to the governor to address the deplorable state of roads in Warri and environs.

Speaking earlier, Barr. Val Arenyeka recalled how as NDDC Commissioner he did the Ogbe-Ijoh canalization, Okerenkokor shore protection and other projects in Ijaw areas of Warri South-West Local Government, stressing that he did not see himself as Itsekiri man but representative of the entire state.

Barr. Arenyeka who noted that he has been practicing law for so many years, declared that if given the mandate to represent Warri Federal Constituency in 2015 he will help to create the legal basis for the comprehensive development of the constituency.

The former NDDC Commissioner who is presently Zonal Legal Adviser, South-South geopolitical zone of the PDP, averred that his interest in the race “is not to edify himself, but to serve my people of Warri Federal Constituency”.

At the Warri residence of spokesman of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Alfred Bubor, Barr. Arenyeka recounted how he “brought the Cottage Hospital Project at Okerenkokor” and stressed that it is now the turn of Warri South Local Government to produce the next Warri Federal Constituency representative since Warri North with Hon. Temi Harriman and Warri South-West with the incumbent, Hon. Daniel Reyeniju has had two tenures each.

Chief Alfred Bubor who traced his political history in Warri to several decades ago in his brief response, stated “I declare you to go to House of Representatives”, noting that any aspirant he has prayed for in the past always achieve their aspiration.

He described himself as a fighter and admonished Ijaws, Itsekiris as well as Urhobos not to fight each other again but to close ranks and work towards development of the state.

In a brief chat with Fresh Angle after the consultative visit, Barr. Arenyeka disclosed that other Ijaw leaders in Warri South-West Local Government such as Chief David Pere and Sylvester Oromoni have also endorsed his aspiration.

Our Correspondent reports that Secretary to Warri South Local Government Transition Committee, Mr. Eugene Ebisin, Warri South Constituency II House of Assembly hopeful, Chief Vincent Okudolor, some ex-Councilors and Supervisors in Warri South Local Government as well as PDP Ward and Local Government leaders accompanied Barr.Ada Val Arenyeka in the consultative visits.
