Prophetess Mrs. Rebecca Adamu

Having spent one year and six months doing her prophetic work in Orerokpe Kingdom in Okpe local government area of Delta State, Prophetess Mrs. Rebecca Adamu said she was told to relocate to another area by her immediate neighbors for prophesying or else she face the wrath of the youth in the area.

According to Prophetess Rebecca, she has been prophesying when she was still very young in Orerokpe but she left after the death of her mother to Ujiogba in Esan West local government area of Edo State where she continued her prophesying and curing the sick.

She further told Our Benin City Correspondent in an exclusive interview that she returned to her home town Orerokpe to continue her God given work which she was ordained since 1984 at Celestial Church of Christ.

She said because she cures psychiatric problem, stroke, infertility in both women and men, spiritual problem and sickness of all kinds, people from far and near trooped to her house for spiritual help which include different security personnel which according to Prophetess Rebecca was seen as threat to some persons around her neighborhood. “My neighbor Mrs. Esther Ramson said I am disturbing her by receiving different visitors who she sees as threat, she said I also disturb her business and told me that if I do not leave the village she will kill me”.

“On the 28th of June 2014, Esther brought a group of young boys and girls on Audi and Passat cars to my house, while I was eating with my two children, they ordered me to come out which I refused. Esther gave order to bring me out and take me to an unknown place which I resisted, prompting them to beat me mercilessly and cut me with machete, but it did not penetrate, then they used back of the cutlass to hit me on my head before blood started gushing out”.

While further narrating her ordeal, Prophetess Rebecca said a group of youth croppers in the neighborhood on sighting her came to her rescue prompting Easter and her gang to run away. She also said she was taken to Orerokpe police station where she was told to go and intimate the king first.

“The police said it is a palace issue as it involves tugs connected to the palace but the king told me to go and meet the police before I was intercepted by JTF who took me to hospital where I was also trailed by Esther and her group of girls but on sighting the JTF, they ran away so I was advised by the hospital attendants to flee the community” she explained.

According to her, “It is a history in Orerokpe Kingdom (Urhobo-land) that they do not welcome strangers who come to visit her for spiritual help”.

The woman, who was critically ill because of the deep cut on her head, said she ran to Benin to inform Police Zone 5 and to get a lawyer to facilitate the transfer of the case to Zone 5.
